Alex Mason is an Australian artist from Inverell NSW, who’s work features strong, bold colours and textures. While her work strongly features Australian flora her main influences are pop culture, music and fashion. Her work is always and outer expression of her current fixation. Alex's technique of applying acrylic paint mixed with a thick polymer was inspired by her mother who also created textured art in the 90's.
Alex worked in radio for five years in Brisbane QLD before deciding to move back to her home town and becoming a casual youth worker. In her down-time she turned to art to help cope with anxiety. Art was a contributing factor in healing her anxiety and believes Art has the power to heal and bring joy.
After a successful launch in Oct 22, she went full time into art making March 2023. Since then, she had her first and sold-out exhibition Sept 2024 and exhibited at AAF Brisbane.
She has also since collaborated with many businesses and brands to create sellout products including AusPost (giftware & stationary), Gemma lea wetsuits (wetsuits & swimwear), Eight Hours (Bed linen), Picnic Season (Picnic rug & accessories), Basics by B (makeup), Yogat (Yoga Mats), Pink Nade (Earrings), Moe Moe Designs (Earrings).
